There are a lot of Issues coming up for St Charles County.
Am I missing something below that is important to you? Send me a message.

St Charles County has been growing at a blistering pace, but we must ensure the growth is setting up the county for long-term success. High demand and rising prices are making the area increasingly difficult for young professionals, working-class families, and seniors to stay.
What can the County Executive do to balance growth with sustainability? Renter protections to ensure housing stability, inclusionary zoning so new developments provide affordable housing options, and targeted financial relief focusing on working-class families and seniors.

In 2025 a shady backroom deal regarding a data center in St Charles City, named Project Cumulus, was brought into the light. Despite Non-Disclosure Agreements and unnamed developers, St Charles residents were able to fight back against what would have been an environmentally disastrous project.
St Charles became the first city in the country to place a moratorium on Data Centers, but that moratorium only lasts for a year. The county must enact strict rules to ensure there is transparency and accountability for all projects entering the county, including data centers. Our water, our electricity, and our environment must be protected.

For the past twenty years there has been one St Charles County Executive. No one in a leadership role should maintain their chair that long. Term limits are needed.
We've also seen the St Charles County government take on national culture wars as opposed to focusing on our issues here at home. Better representation through fair district representation and open community discussion can ensure St Charles does what is best for St Charles.

On 30 March 2026, the St Charles County Council, at the behest of current County Executive Steve Ehlmann, approved a 287(g) partnership with the US Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Agency (ICE). This was a colossal mistake for the county. It exposes our communities to fear, gives our police poor training that will hurt their relationship with the people, and will hurt our local economy as many other 287(g) agreements have done across America.
This agreement has no place in St Charles County.

Missourians made their voices clear in 2024 when we voted to legalize abortion and put the Right to Reproductive Freedom into our state constitution. Since then, Jefferson City politicians have tried to change the rules and overturn our votes to get between people and our healthcare providers.
Studies show that bans on abortion can lead to a 9% increase in pregnancy-related deaths. It is critical that we protect our rights, our votes, and access to reproductive medicine.

The parks and trails of St Charles County are a major reason why the county consistently ranks as one of the healthiest in the state. The Great Rivers Greenway is looking to expand trails throughout our county to connect our parks and communities. Supporting their vision is important for our health, happiness, and our economy.
Our communities are not the only ones who benefit from our care of the natural world around us. Being at the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers means we have a duty to all those who live and work downriver to care for the environment through policy and action.

Regional cooperation with Lincoln, Warren, Franklin, and especially St Louis Counties are how we become stronger. For too long, we have sought to distance ourselves or wrestle away power from our neighbors. We should be working together to build up the region, increase investment, and develop strong community bonds.
